Implant Dentistry
Few
advances in Dentistry have been as great as Dental Implants. Briefly
stated, Dental Implants are used to replace single missing teeth
or anchor multiple teeth together like a bridge or a denture. Dentures
are necessary whenever all the teeth are missing in either upper
or lower jaw.
A dental implant is a titanium screw or root that is placed in the jaw by a Periodontist
or Oral Surgeon. After the dental implant heals then Dr. Fitzgerald will place a single
crown, a bridge or denture over the implant(s).
Whether you are a candidate for dental implants is decided on an individual basis and
Dr. Fitzgerald will explain all tooth replacement options with you if you are
missing teeth.
